February 2024
Launched our new outreach program, connecting more families to essential mental health resources.
March 2024
Expanded our counseling services to include workshops for schools, promoting mental wellness among students.

Amanda J. Bokman, Chair
Amanda (“Mandi”) Bokman is a native of New York and attended New York University’s Stern School of Business, proudly graduating as the Valedictorian of her class. She began her career in public accounting as a practicing CPA and went on to serve as the CFO of various publicly traded fashion companies, including McNaughton Apparel Group, Jones New York, and J.Crew. Since 2014, Mandi has worked in commercial real estate at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) as a Managing Director.
Mandi has served on the Board of Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals since 2023, initially as the Treasurer, and she assumed the role of Chair in September.
Mandi lives with her significant other, Bradley Cost, in Bantam, CT. Mandi and Brad have owned their home in Bantam since 2006 and made it their full-time residence in 2020.
C. Todd Staub, MD, FACP, Vice Chair
Todd Staub is a primary care physician and the Senior Vice President for Physician Relations at Optum Health – a division of Optum and part of the United Health Group. In this role, he helps to bring independent medical groups into the Optum network. Optum is building a new kind of community-based, national delivery system – one founded on primary care that meets people where they are and brings healthcare to them.
After starting in solo/small practice in the town of Washington and then Litchfield, Todd became one of the founders of ProHealth Physicians, a large primary care group practice. ProHealth Physicians serves 300,000 patients in 70 locations across the state. In December 2015, ProHealth Physicians joined Optum. Todd served as the Chairman of ProHealth Physicians from 2000-2015.
Todd is married to Dale DeSanto Staub and lives in Litchfield.
Peter Aziz, Treasurer
Peter graduated from Colgate University, worked for a brief stint in NYC, then joined his family business, Bantam Home & Energy, in Litchfield, CT. He has run the company since 2006, recently rebranding it Valiant Home & Energy, now serving most of Western Connecticut.
Peter currently serves as the Vice-Chair of Northwest Community Bank, and has held leadership positions with Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals, Litchfield Performing Arts, Litchfield Rotary Club, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, and Camp Washington, and he has served on Litchfield’s Board of Finance.
He and his wife, Susan Becker Aziz, live in Norfolk, CT.
Karen Halpert, Secretary
Karen grew up in New York City and Morris, CT, and has spent many years living in Europe. After graduating from Columbia University, she built a successful career in advertising and marketing, working with major agencies and corporations across diverse industries both in the US and internationally.
In the last decade of her corporate career, she collaborated with several prominent US non-profits, gaining insight into the sector’s inner workings. Following her retirement from the corporate world, Karen trained in non-profit fundraising and management and has been a dedicated consultant since 2017, supporting small- and medium-sized non-profits in Fairfield County and Northwestern Connecticut. Her consulting work spans conservation, religious organizations, immigration services, and mental healthcare.
A permanent resident of Morris since 2014, Karen has actively served on the Greenwoods Board in various capacities since 2017.

Emily Littman Eisen, Ph.D.
Emily Littman Eisen is a clinical neuropsychologist. She graduated from Connecticut College and received a Ph.D. from New York University. She completed a dual post doctoral fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine In the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry. In addition to her private practice, she served as Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Medicine for almost thirty years and was a practicum supervisor for doctoral candidates in the Graduate Psychology Program at the University of Hartford for over 20years.
Emily lives in an old farmhouse in Bethlehem and serves on the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem Land Trust and the Advisory Committee for Caring for Bethlehem. She has served as a trustee for many community boards including the Connecticut Community Foundation, Chase Collegiate School, Gaylord Hospital, and the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. She has served on the Board of Trustees of Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals for many years and is currently a member of the Clinical Quality and Governance Committees.
Barbara Gold
Raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Barbara came to the “mainland” US to receive a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland. Upon graduating, she moved to New York, where she landed her first job on Madison Avenue in the corporate world of advertising, followed by a 15-year career as an international producer for large budget television commercials.
Barbara moved to Morris, CT, in 2006, where she established herself as a creative branding and marketing specialist for small businesses. She was also the original co-owner of Marty’s Café in Washington, CT. Barbara is a retired member of the Director’s Guild of America and New York Woman in Film and Television. Barbara served for six years on the Board of Directors of ASAP in Washington, CT, and has served on the Board of Trustees of Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals since 2017.
William Havemeyer
Bill Havemeyer holds a BA from Rutgers and an MA from Columbia. He began his career in historic real estate rehabilitation, eventually becoming a Partner in revitalizing an area of downtown New Haven. As president of Ninth Square Management, he led residential projects in Savannah, Brooklyn, New Paltz, and Waterloo, Iowa. In 1992, he joined Ferguson Capital Management in NYC as a consultant to real estate investors and handled various investment responsibilities.
In 1995, Bill was recruited to France as interim Director of Parsons School of Design’s Paris program. He implemented legal and financial reforms, making the program profitable within six months, and successfully led the search for a permanent Director.
From 2000 to 2024, he has served as CFO of The Skyscraper Museum, assisting with its administration and finances.
Active in arts and education, Bill has been a board member of the New School University since 1976, and previously served on the boards of the Brooklyn Museum, Parsons School of Design, and Union Theological Seminary. He was also a member and chair of the Board of The Cultural Institutions Retirement System, overseeing a $2 billion pension fund for NYC museums.
